A little over two years after assuming his role as the senior uniformed officer in the U.S. Air Force, Gen. Norton A. Schwartz will address a National Press Club luncheon on Oct. 12.
Schwartz will discuss the service's ongoing efforts to organize, train, and equip itself amid two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, a worsening fiscal crisis that is pressing on the Pentagon's budget and an increased emphasis on the service's stewardship of nuclear weapons.
Schwartz has served as Commander of the Special Operations Command-Pacific, as well as Alaskan Command, Alaskan North American Aerospace Defense Command Region, the 11th Air Force and U.S. Transportation Command.
The luncheon begins at 12:30 p.m. Gen. Schwartz’s remarks begin promptly at 1 p.m., followed by a question period that concludes at 2 p.m. Cost of the luncheon is $17 for National Press Club members, $28 for their guests and $35 for the general public. To reserve, call 202-662-7501 or email email@example.com
