Anthony Fauci, M.D., director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), will focus on the Ebola outbreak at a National Press Club speaker luncheon Friday, November 21. One of the world's leading experts in his field, Dr. Fauci has been swamped with requests by the media, medical community, and legislators for his views and guidance re the Ebola issue.

He has been with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) since 1968. Internationally known and respected for his expertise in immunology and infectious diseases, Dr. Fauci has headed the NIAID since 1984. He has received numerous awards for his key contributions to HIV/AIDS research and other immunodeficiencies. A part of the NIH network, NIAID oversees an extensive research portfolio of basic and applied research on infectious and immune-mediated illnesses.

The NPC luncheon will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. and Fauci's remarks will begin just after 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session. NPC members who wish to attend the pre-luncheon reception must RSVP separately to [email protected] no later than 48 hours before the event. Space may be limited. You must have a paid reservation to theluncheon to attend the VIP reception.
