NPC Luncheon with James P. Hoffa, President, International Brotherhood of Teamsters

September 13, 2012 12:30 PM

Speakers Add to calendar

Location: Holeman Lounge

Teamsters President James P. Hoffa will discuss the road ahead for American labor and the workforce issues in play in the run up to the Nov. 6 general election at a National Press Club luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 13.

Hoffa, who grew up on the picket lines and in union meetings, began his fourth term as the union's general president in 2011. On March 19, 2013, Hoffa, a labor attorney from Detroit, will surpass his father, James R. Hoffa, to become the second-longest serving president in the 110-year history of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Only Dan Tobin, who served from 1907 to 1952, has held office longer. The Teamsters represent more than 1.4 million workers.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., with the discussion beginning promptly at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $19 for Press Club members, $30 for guests of members, and $37 for general admission. To reserve tickets, please e-mailreservations@press.org or call 202-662-7501. Tickets must be paid for at time of reservation.
