Political Convention Boot Camp

Get ready for the 2012 party presidential nominating conventions with a panel discussion on Monday, July 23 featuring the press gallery leaders who oversee credentialing and access, and then get tips and war stories from three veteran journalists.

From 9:00 a.m. to 10, Jerry Gallegos and Joe Keenan of the House and Senate press galleries will cover logistics and take questions.

From 10 a.m. to 11, get coverage tips from Rick Dunham, Washington bureau chief of the Houston Chronicle; Karen Tumulty, national political correspondent for the Washington Post; and Darlene Superville, political desk supervisor for The Associated Press.

This program is free and presented by the Regional Reporters Association and the National Press Club's Journalism Institute and the club's Professional Development Committee.
