There are less than two months before Election Day, and the Latino vote is more important than ever to national politics. But because the Latino population is so diverse, harnessing its power at the ballot box presents a challenge for political parties. Hispanics are the fastest-growing group of independent voters, and 46 percent say they reject a party label, according to a recent study. Panelists from the Pew Hispanic Center and the National Council of La Raza will discuss voter mobilization efforts, and tactics politicians are using to attract the growing population of Latino voters. In addition, a professional blogger who writes about Latino political issues will discuss his experiences growing up as a Cuban-American, and the cultural pressures that can affect voters' choices.
