Venue Overview

The National Press Club is a premier venue for hosting social events, meetings, and news conferences. It brings together talented chefs, excellent service, top planners, and experienced technicians for successful events. Located at the top of the National Press Building, it has close proximity to major DC institutions and features digital video broadcasting studios.

Availability Inquiry for Main Level Event Spaces

We will respond to your inquiry by the next business day. In addition to club-sponsored events like the NPC Luncheons and NPC Newsmaker series, the general public is invited to host press conferences and private events. Please note that private events are not listed on the NPC Calendar until the week prior.

On its main level the National Press Club offers three sizes of rooms: smaller Conference-size of 550-600 sq.ft.; midsize Lounge-size of 1600-1800 sq.ft.; and larger NPC Ballroom of 2800-4700 sq.ft.   View Capacities

If less than 48 hours prior to your event, please call an event representative directly at 202-662-7587. There are no requirements for food purchases to rent rooms during the week Monday-Friday. For events on a Saturday or Sunday a minimum of $10,000 in food & beverage, excluding tax & gratuity, must be purchased. Higher minimums apply for events on holidays.

The rooms rent in three time periods: Morning time period is 8:00am-11:00am. Afternoon time period is 12 noon-3:00pm. Evening time period is 6:00pm-11:00pm. Events beginning prior to 8:00am or concluding after 11:00pm are subject to an additional labor fee. Flexibility for times may apply to mid-afternoon and evening time periods at the Club’s discretion.
