Archives: Services
The Archives provides research services for members and the general public. Basic reference requests are handled on a first come first serve basis free of charge. Due to limited staff, researchers with in-depth research requests are asked to perform their own research by making an appointment during regular business hours.
Photographs
The Archives offers photographic reprint services for personal use and for publication. Photographs may be reproduced and purchased pending copyright permission. Requests for copyrighted materials may be declined based on the copyright holder. Researchers requesting printed copies of photographs must pay the outside vendor fee plus 25%. Print requests may take up to three weeks. Digital copies of photographs are burned to CD-ROM. Digital copies are $25 for low resolution copies (under 300 dpi) and $35 for high resolution copies (600 dpi or higher). These prices are in addition to the $10 fee for the CD-ROM.
Audio
Researchers may request audio copies from our luncheon series, newsmakers, book raps, professional affairs events, and forums. The Archives will not sell copies of oral histories without the consent of the donor. Oral history copies may not be used for broadcast without permission of the donor. Please note, all audio from 1952 to 1990 is located at the Library of Congress. For more information and to search for National Press Club audio located at the Library of Congress please see www.loc.gov/rr/record. Most audio is in analog format requiring extra time to transfer to a digital format if requested. Older recordings are not broadcast quality.
