Best breaking news broadcast stories of 2013 sought by the National Press Club Awards Program

Broadcast journalists: We are looking for the best broadcast news journalism done in 2013.

So please take a look for your best work from last year and submit it to the National Press Club’s 2014 Journalism Contest. The competition offers broadcast journalists a chance to have their work recognized by the Club.

The deadline to submit entries is April 1 and the contest is open to Press Club members and non-members. Offering broadcast news entries is free for NPC members and $50 for nonmembers.

For the first time, entries may be submitted online or by the more traditional use of mail. For more information, click here.

The prize for the best in the broadcast news category is a free year’s membership in the National Press Club.

The contest also includes awards for breaking news-print, political reporting, regional reporting on Washington, international coverage, consumer reporting, online journalism and newsletter journalism. It also includes a group of awards for areas as diverse as reporting on the welfare of animals, coverage of the journalism industry, the aviation industry, problems facing the elderly and humor writing.
