John Perkins, bestselling author of "Hoodwinked" and "Confessions of an Economic Hitman," will speak at the National Press Club at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, in the ballroom.
Drawing on experiences described in his two blockbuster books, Perkins describes the post-WWII era as one that created history's first truly global empire -- mostly through economics, rather than the military.
Identifying corporations as "the most influential institutions on the planet," he challenges people to transform themselves and the companies that so deeply impact their lives. He presents a plan for creating a world "that will make our children proud of us."
Tickets are $10 for non-members and free for Club members with the use of discount code "NPCEvents." Register here. This Events Committee is sponsoring the program.
