Former congressmen Kennedy, Ramstad to discuss mental health issues at March 14 luncheon

Former Reps. Patrick Kennedy (D-RI) and Jim Ramstad (R-MN) will discuss the Mental Health Parity Act at a National Press Club luncheon Wednesday, March 14.

Authors of the legislation named after the late Sen. Paul Wellstone, they will talk about the challenges surrounding its implementation. The law prohibits health insurance companies from discriminating against those who have a mental illness.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Remarks will begin at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m.
