Isikoff to lead discussion after exclusive screening of Clinton biopic

Michael Isikoff, national investigative correspondent for NBC News, will lead a panel discussion about the presidency of Bill Clinton
following an exclusive screening of the forthcoming PBS biopic "American Experience: CLINTON."

The Jan. 12 event begins at 7 p.m. in the First Amendment Lounge. The 30-minute screening will be followed by the panel discussion.

Isikoff joined NBC News in July 2010 as national investigative correspondent. He had been at Newsweek since 1994 as an investigative correspondent. He has written extensively on the U.S. government's war on terrorism, the Abu Ghraib scandal, campaign finance and congressional ethics abuses, presidential politics and other national issues. Isikoff has written two New York Times best-selling books: “Hubris: The Inside Story of Spin, Scandal, and the Selling of the Iraq War,” co-written with David Corn, and "Uncovering Clinton: A Reporter's Story," which chronicled his own reporting of the Monica Lewinsky story.

Isikoff will be joined by Mark Samels, executive producer of PBS’s "American Experience," Emmy and Peabody award-winning filmmaker Barak Goodman ("My Lai"), and Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post reporter David Maraniss.

The biopic, a four-hour, two-part, in-depth look at the Clinton presidency airs nationally on PBS on Feb. 20 and Feb. 21.

In "Clinton," the latest installment in the collection of presidential biographies, "American Experience" explores the story of an American president who rose from a turbulent childhood in Arkansas. The film recounts a career of accomplishment and scandal, a marriage that would make history and create controversy, and a presidency that would define the crucial and transformative period between the fall of the Berlin Wall and 9/11.

This event is free to members of the National Press Club and $5 for all guests of members or non-members who wish to attend.
