Join American Legion Post 20 on a June visit to the Cold War museum

Club members are invited to visit the Cold War Museum at Vint Hill, Virginia, coupled with a wine tasting at Vint Hill Craft Winery.

The event takes place on Friday, June 21. Vint Hill Farms Station served as an Army and NSA signals intelligence site from World War II through the Cold War, until 1997. The decommissioned site has been privatized, and the establishments there lean hard into the site's military history. Vint Hill Craft Winery's motto is "You Were Never Here." One of their wine labels is "Enigma." A coffee shop next door is "The Covert Cafe."

Both the museum and the winery are located in historic buildings that housed critical military operations. The winery's tasting bar is on the second floor of a barn that served as the heart of Vint Hill, Monitoring Station #1, where service members tuned in to German transmissions during the war. The event offers an enjoyable way to learn about a corner of military history that took place in our back yard.

The wine tasting costs $18 per person, which provides six one-ounce pours. The museum, depending on the number of attendees, will charge approximately $20 a person for this private visit.
