The National Press Club Broadcast Operations Center is a full-service video production studio that provides a convenient location for media resources, production services, global transmission access, webcasting solutions, studio and editing services. In addition, multiple fiber lines distribute audio and video between the conference rooms on the main floor of the National Press Club to major networks.
The space is shared by the National Press Club Archives - home to our collection of documents, audio, video and other historic items - which chronicles the Club's more than 100 year history.
The editing suite houses AVID Adrenaline with all of the storage components and additional graphic programs you would expect of any post-production house. The suite provides a comfortable, private setting where you can continue to work uninterrupted and focused on your vision to produce the highest quality product.
The Broadcast Operations Center is outfitted with a large conference room that adds versatility to every studio event and is the perfect addition to your production. It allows your staff to not only view the current production via a 46" plasma monitor, but this is a space for your staff to simultaneously work, send press releases, have catering brought in, put down materials and luggage, and hold operational meetings.
This space is adjacent to the Conference room and allows your VIPs to relax in a comfortable setting that features couches, plasma television, available food and beverage offerings, and in close proximity to the studio and your PR team.
Our Makeup Room is located directly across from the entrance to the Main Studio and features the necessary elements to make you look even better on camera. Our makeup artists have years of experience in the broadcast industry and know what it takes to make you look your best!
Our control room houses all of our producing and directing equipment necessary to facilitate your broadcast and video needs. We are equipped with an audio board, switcher, CG, and Teleprompter to accommodate small and large productions.
Our technical operations control serves as the pipeline to carry your event to major networks and the rest of the world instantaneously. It is the center of our operations housing our Tandberg 6000 video conferencing equipment, web encoders, and record decks. With 2-way fiber (AVOC) connectivity, audio and video is transmitted with quality via IP, satellite, or ISDN to the viewer on the web, on television, or to a trade show or conference.
This control room is equipped to handle productions similar to those in the Main Control Room. The connectivity of our studio allows for all the same producing and directing equipment to facilitate your broadcast and video needs.
The National Press Club Archives collects and preserves a treasure trove of archival materials from the National Press Club, the Washington Press Club (formerly the Women’s National Press Club) which merged with the NPC in 1985, and The Gridiron Club. The archives are available for research purposes to members of the National Press Club and historians.
