Copyright provides protection to photographers and other content creators against unauthorized use of our work. But copyright can also make publishers a target for accusations of violating copyrights, whether deserved or not. Thus, knowing the basics of copyright can help both creative professionals and publishers protect their products.
Joining National Press Club's Photography Team on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 12 noon in the Cosgrove Lounge is Joshua Kaufman, partner and head of the Copyright and Licensing Group at the law firm Venable LLP in Washington, DC. Mr. Kaufman counsels and litigates on copyright, trademarks, and other intellectual property, as well as media, entertainment, and literary law. He will describe basic concepts of copyright and best practices for photographers and other media pros.
The session on Nov. 1 begins with lunch at 12:00 noon with the discussion beginning at 1:00 pm. The program will also be available remotely beginning at 1:00 pm.
