Former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will discuss his new book “Resolved: United Nations in a Divided World” at a National Press Club Virtual Headliners Book Event at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 17.
Ban, a South Korean diplomat and former foreign minister, served as the eighth Secretary General of the United Nations from January 2007 to December 2016, a tumultuous period that included the Arab Spring, nuclear proliferation in Iran and North Korea, the Ebola epidemic, and brutal new conflicts in Central Africa. In Resolved, Ban offers a personal account of his decade at the helm of the United Nations, as well as “a candid assessment of the people and events that shape our era, and a bracing analysis of what lies ahead.”
This one-hour program will stream live on the Club's website and YouTube Channel, and is accessible to both the media and members of the general public free-of-charge. Viewers can submit their questions for Ban in advance or during the live program via email to [email protected].
