NPC Book Event
NPR Journalists Susan Stamberg, Nina Totenberg and Linda Wertheimer will join author Lisa Napoli to discuss her new book “Susan, Linda, Nina & Cokie: The Extraordinary Story of the Founding Mothers of NPR" at a National Press Club virtual Headliners Book and Author webcast at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 29.
The one-hour program will stream live on the Club’s website and YouTube Channel, and is accessible to both the media and members of the general public free-of-charge. Viewers are invited to submit their questions for Napoli, Stamberg, Totenberg and Wertheimer in advance or during the live program via email to [email protected]. Please put NPR in the subject line.
Napoli’s group biography tells the story of how four strong women fought sexism, covered decades of news and came to be icons whose voices defined NPR. Three of the four women will join with Napoli in sharing their stories of how they blazed the trail and formed deep and enduring friendships along the way. Their colleague Cokie Roberts died in 2019.
Napoli, a journalist who worked at The New York Times, Marketplace, MSNBC and KCRW, is the author of three other books, "Radio Shangri-La," "Ray & Joan," and "Up All Night: Ted Turner, CNN and the Birth of 24-Hour News."
