The Club is once again hosting an evening of music with Blues Alley, Georgetown’s home for jazz for an evening of great music, and this year there's a literary twist.
Larry Tye will be on hand to discuss his new book The Jazzmen: How Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong and Count Basie Transformed America. It looks mainly at those maestroes' lives off their bandstands, and how they set the table for the civil rights revolution. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
The discussion starts at 6 p.m. and will be followed by some wonderful jazz from Blues Alley musicians from 7p.m.-9p.m.
