Diane Rehm will be the guest of honor at the Legends of Broadcast dinner being held Thursday, May 18 at 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Holeman Lounge
Rehm is a native Washingtonian who began her radio career in 1973 as a volunteer for WAMU 88.5, the NPR member station in Washington, D.C. She was hired as an assistant producer and later became the host and producer of two health-oriented programs.
In 1979, she began hosting WAMU’s local morning talk show, Kaleidoscope, which was renamed The Diane Rehm Show in 1984. The Diane Rehm Show grew from a local program to one with international reach and a weekly on-air audience of nearly 3 million.
This special event will take place in the Holeman Lounge. A cash bar reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. with dinner following at 6:45. At 7:30, our guest of honor will make remarks and then open the floor to an informal Q&A session to end by 8:30.
Cost of the three-course dinner with 2 glasses of wine is $70 for National Press Club members.
