A New Ms. Poll focused on the Issues Driving Women’s Voting Decisions:
Congress and the 2024 Elections
With women’s rights and democracy in the United States facing unprecedented reversals by the Supreme Court and reactionary new laws in ultra-conservative red state legislatures, Ms. and Feminist Majority Foundation are releasing a new poll report on issues driving women’s voting decisions in the critical 2024 elections including abortion, women’s equality and the Equal Rights Amendment.
The briefing will take place at the National Press Club, Holman Lounge, 529 14th St NW, 1:00 to 3:00 pm, speakers include:
Ms. executive editor Kathy Spillar
Pollster Celinda Lake
American labor leader, civil rights activist Dolores Huerta
Feminist Majority Foundation president Eleanor Smeal
ERA Coalition Chair Zakiya Thomas
The briefing will include a discussion of the gender gap and feminist factor.
Over its 50 years, Ms. has conducted regular polls to measure public sentiment on women’s rights issues, most recently in September 2022; the poll found the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision and passage of abortion restrictions and outright bans energized pro-abortion rights voters, especially women voters who have the power to determine the outcome of elections, to be motivated to turn out to vote in the 2022 elections.
