Communications professionals are increasingly needing to manage crisis situations on social media, and how they respond to those incidents affects the brand and reputation of their clients or employers.

On Thursday, April 1 at 12pm, the NPC Communicators Team will host a "Lunch and Learn" session with Sam Huxley, a trusted advisor to numerous companies and organizations on managing a crisis with digital solutions. Sam will review the tools for monitoring social media channels when a crisis erupts and how to use digital platforms to issue responses and analyze their effectiveness. This program is free and for National Press Club members ONLY. Members may register online.

Sam has more than 20 years of experience in leading digital strategy and analytics at Levick, FleishmanHillard, New Media Strategies, and Young & Rubicam. He started his career after graduating from St. John’s College in Annapolis and during the emergence of the internet and social media as influential communications channels. Since then, he has developed digital campaigns for leading companies and government agencies to successfully address crisis incidents.

During this session, Sam will also discuss the digital solutions he has created, including industry-first measurement and promotion strategies, as well as designing bottom-up social media infrastructures, and how communicators can apply them to their workflows.
