U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will highlight his department's priorities at a National Press
Club Headliners Newsmaker event at 2 p.m. Friday, March 26.

Vilsack, confirmed on Feb. 23, returned to the post he held for eight years in the Obama administration. He has said he intends to help farmers move toward climate-friendly farm practices such as the creation of a carbon bank, increase access to nutritious food, and invest in infrastructure and clean energy in rural America.

Before returning to the U.S. Department of Agriculture last month, Vilsack, a former two-term governor of Iowa, served as president and chief executive of the U.S. Dairy Export Council.
