AMA president speaks at Newsmaker as COVID-19 enters third year, today, 11 a.m.

As the pandemic enters its third year, American Medical Association President Dr. Gerald E. Harmon plans to deliver remarks and take questions at a virtual Headliners Newsmaker event on Thursday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m.

The speech is expected to address the road ahead and the challenges physicians face in the fight against COVID-19. Harmon also aims to stress the importance of vaccines and the recent decision by the Supreme Court to block the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s emergency temporary standard for COVID-19 vaccination and testing for large businesses.

The Centers for Disease Control confirmed the first COVID-19 case in the U.S. on Jan. 20, 2020.
