American Legion Post 20, in meeting open to all, to hear member discuss Afghanistan pullout, Wednesday

A member of the National Press Club's historic American Legion Post 20 plans to discuss last year's evacuation of U.S. forces from Afghanistan at a Post 20 virtual meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 7 p.m.

All Club members are invited to the meeting. RSVP to Post 20 Sergeant-at-Arms Evelyn Moy at [email protected], who will provide a meeting link.

Erik Doman is a former Army infantry sergeant and Foreign Service officer. Doman has been a private sector consultant to the U.S. Agency for International Development and the Defense Department, including non-combatant evacuation operations and disaster response. He was on the ground in Kabul during the evacuation of U.S. troops and Afghan citizens and later assisted with the resettlement of Afghan families in the United States.

Post 20 was founded at the Club in 1919 at the suggestion of famed World War I Gen. John "Black Jack" Pershing.  At the time Pershing was serving in Washington and was an associate member of the Club.
