Annual Civil War battlefield tour will go to Gettysburg June 8

The Club’s annual Civil War battlefield trip will go to Gettysburg National Military Park on Saturday, June 8, some three weeks before the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg.

Club members and guests will depart by bus from the F Street side of the National Press Building at 8 a.m., returning at approximately 5 p.m. There is no charge, but NPC members are limited to one guest each. Lunch will be provided.

Reservations are required and can be made with Richard Meyer of the Travel Committee at 703-356-6884.

Our guide will be Civil War historian and author David Richards, a longtime guide at Gettysburg and expert on the battle.

This is the third in the Club’s sesquicentennial visits to Civil War battlefields, following trips to Manassas and Antietam in 2011 and 2012, respectively. As in past years, the trip is being hosted by the Civil War Trust as part of a long-standing reciprocal arrangement with the Club.
