Application deadline Feb. 3 for Columbia energy journalism program

The Feb. 3 deadline is coming up soon for the Columbia Energy Journalism Initiative's 2019 program for energy reporters in the U.S. and abroad. The program includes a seminar June 11-14 in New York City featuring experts in energy and the environment from academia, government and industry.

National Press Club member Bill Loveless, director of the program, invites Club members and others who report on energy to apply. The program is conducted by the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University with financial support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

More information, including eligibility requirements and an application, is available online.

EJI accepts 20 journalists to participate in the program to help them acquire a deeper understanding of disciplines critical to understanding the energy sector, including policy, markets, finance, science, technology and geopolitics. Since its inception in 2017, the program has enrolled 39 journalists working in the U.S., China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom and other countries.
