Best diplomatic, foreign policy coverage among awards in Club's Journalism Contest

The National Press Club's annual Journalism Contest is looking for your best work covering diplomatic and foreign policy issues..
 
The best diplomatic-foeign policy stories from 2019 should be entered in the competition for the Edwin M. Hood Award for Diplomatic Correspondence, one of a variety of categories in the contest. The deadline is next Tuesday. June 30.
 
Named for Edwin M. Hood, a distinguished diplomatic correspondent for The Associated Press and a founding member of the Club, the competition offers awards for excellence in reporting on these issues. Entrants must demonstrate an understanding of American foreign policy and how foreign affairs affect those policies.
 
The Journalism Contest offers prizes for print and broadcast. Winners in each category get $750. The cost of an entry is free for National Press Club members and $75 for non-members.
 
Other categories in the Journalism Contest include consumer news, politics, online journalism, breaking news, photos, coverage of elderly issues, humor writing, stories about animals and their well-being, the media and other issues. Details of the awards can be found online
 
The awards will be presented later this summer at a dinner at the  Club, depending on conditions. Send in your entry in online, or if you prefer, it can be mailed in to the Press Club, as long as it is postmarked by the deadline.
