Bjerga Says Jeans OK Attire for Fourth Estate Award Dinner

Answering a question posed often in recent days by members and attendees of the Fourth Estate Award dinner on Friday, Oct. 15, Club President Alan Bjerga is stating for the record: Yes, blue jeans are appropriate dress this year.

"Bob Schieffer will be wearing jeans, I will be wearing jeans, and it is my hope and expectation that many other attendees at this Texas festive event will wear jeans," said Bjerga, who was wearing jeans at the moment he said this. "While cocktail dresses and dressier pants are welcome, jeans truly reflect the informal spirit Bob is bringing to the event. We are there to celebrate Bob and have a good time!"

Tickets are still available for the evening's After Party. After Party Only guests will gather in the Holeman Lounge while the dinner is taking place, beginning about 8:15 p.m. After Party guests will be able to enjoy an open bar in the Holeman Lounge and a live video feed showing the program from the ballroom. When the formal program has concluded, After Party guests will be invited to enter the ballroom and join the fun.

After Party tickets are $50 each and are available on a first-come, first-served basis as long as supply lasts. Tickets must be purchased via EventBrite and may be picked up at the NPC front desk after 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15.
