Boogie woogie with Werner, Jan. 28

Boogie woogie into the night with The Daryl Davis Band at the National Press Club President's Inaugural Ball in honor of President-elect Theresa Werner.

The inaugural dinner, roast and dance will be held Saturday, Jan. 28 in the Club ballroom. The extraordinary evening begins with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m.

The traditional dinner and roast will be followed by lively dancing in the Holeman Lounge to the music of acclaimed jazz and blues musician Daryl Davis and his band. Davis, who was mentored by legendary pianists Pinetop Perkins and Johnnie Johnson, tours national and internationally and is now for his CDs American Roots and Alternate Routes. He has won several Washington Area Music Awards for Best Artist in the Roots and Blues categories.

Werner is an award-winning swing dancer and promises to show her best moves at the Saturday night gala.

Tickets are $95 and include an open bar, hors d'oevres, a three-course steak dinner and plenty of hearty laughs.
