Books and Brunch plan discussion of 'Madame Fourcade's Secret War' on June 15

Please join the National Press Club's Books and Brunch for a discussion of Madame Fourcade's Secret War by Lynn Olsen at noon on Saturday, June 15, in The Fourth Estate Restaurant.

Books and Brunch is open to all members and their guests. Lunch may be ordered off the restaurant's menu. It is not mandatory to have read the book. There's plenty to learn from hearing the discussion.

If you are able to attend, please contact Fay Iudicello at [email protected] or call her at (703) 989-4503 before noon on Thursday, June 13. We want to assure we have adequate seating and services for all attendees.

The New York Times credits Lynn Olsen with correcting an historical injustice with her fast-paced and impressively researched Madame Fourcade's Secret War.

"Why is her name missing from the honor roll of war heroes carved into thousands of monuments in hundreds of French village squares? Might the fact that this hero ... the leader of one of France's most successful anti-Nazi resistance organizations... was not a hero, but a heroine, have something to do with her absence from history? There is reason to believe so," wrote Kati Marton in the New York Times.
