Books & Brunch to discuss "Demon Copperhead" at Aug. 19 virtual meeting

Books & Brunch will meet via Zoom at noon Saturday, Aug. 19, to discuss Barbara Kingsolver's Pulitzer Prize winning novel "Demon Copperhead."

Inspired by Charles Dickens' "David Copperfield," Kingsolver takes us to the mountains of southern Appalachia to tell the story of a boy born to a poor, teenaged single mother living in a trailer as he plays the hand he's been dealt and contemplates the invisibility of people like him in popular culture.
