Books & Brunch Discussion on Darwin and Lincoln, Noon April 17

Books & Brunch group will discuss “Angels and Ages: A Short Book about Darwin, Lincoln, and Modern Life” by Adam Gopnik at noon, Saturday, April 17, in the Fourth Estate Restaurant.

Books & Brunch is open to all NPC members and guests.

Free parking is available in the PMI garage on G Street between 13th and 14th streets to those who order a meal and bring their PMI ticket to be stamped.

At the end of the discussion those attending will vote on the books to discuss at the May 15 and June 19 meetings.

Until now members had selected only the next month’s book at each meeting. But, says Books & Brunch chairman Jack Williams, some members have commented that this encouraged selection of short books because members might not have time to read a long book during the coming month. Knowing two months ahead of time which books will be on the agenda will allow members to find time to read a longer book from time to time, such as while on vacation.

At the May 15 meeting, members will be reminded of the June book and vote on the July book.
