Casting call for NPC members to perform with McLean Drama Company on Oct. 4

The National Press Club Events Team is looking for Club members who want to unleash their inner thespian and perform in one-act plays with professional actors from the McLean Drama Company on Friday, Oct. 4, at 6 p.m.

NPC/MDC Theater will feature a series of award-winning 10-minute plays performed by Club members alongside actors and directors from the McLean Drama Company.

The event will allow Club members to try their hand at acting with and being directed by professional dramatists. This will be a casual evening of drinks, conversation and acting, and is being held in conjunction with the Club’s Taco Night.

If you’re interested in flexing your acting chops, please e-mail Marc Wojno at [email protected] by Friday, Sept. 13. You don’t need prior acting experience to apply. You will, however, need to make one rehearsal practice before the show, but there’s no need to memorize lines.

Founded by the late Rachael Bail, a long-time Club member, the McLean Drama Company was created as a forum for new work and new plays, with an emphasis on the work of womenr.

For more than 16 years MDC has presented award-winning new plays at various theater venues throughout the local DMV area, including the Alden Theatre, Woolly Mammoth, Flashpoint-Mead Theater, Capital Fringe Festival and the Source Theater.
