CDC Director to Discuss Debate Over Vaccines at Oct. 16 Headliners Luncheon

In his first appearance at the National Press Club, Dr. Robert R. Redfield, Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, will discuss the ongoing debate over vaccines at a Headliners Luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

Redfield characterizes immunization as the most powerful tool in public health to combat disease. With an extensive background in clinical research and infectious diseases, especially HIV, he will stress the urgency of winning the hearts and minds of Americans who may be hesitant to vaccinate their children, or who face obstacles to accessing vaccines.

Lunch will be served in the Holeman Lounge at 12:30 p.m., with remarks beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m.
