CDC head to discuss outbreak of Zika virus at luncheon, April 25

Dr. Tom Frieden, director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), will address the Zika virus outbreak at a National Press Club speaker luncheon Monday, April 25.

Frieden, who has led the CDC since 2009, will discuss the latest research and forecasts about Zita as scientists at the CDC and other leading health-related organizations work around the clock to better understand and address the virus tied to birth defects.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., with remarks beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a Q&A session ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $24 for National Press Club members and one guest, and $38 for non-members. Tickets may be purchased online by clicking here.
