Center on Global Energy Policy invites applications for annual Energy Journalism Initiative seminar

The Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) is pleased to open the call for applications to its second annual Energy Journalism Initiative (EJI) seminar.

The program promotes quality journalism in the energy sector by educating journalists about the multiple disciplines at play, including policy, markets, finance, climate change, technology and geopolitics. It includes an all-expenses-paid, seminar from June 12-15, 2018, conducted at the SIPA Center on Global Energy Policy in New York, with presentations from academic, business and public-sector experts.

The Energy Journalism Initiative invites applications from print, online and broadcast journalists who are relatively new to covering energy: with five or fewer years of experience on the beat. The Initiative will look for reporters whose coverage appears in national and local newspapers, wire services, trade press, and internet/new-media outlets. The deadline for applications is February 2, 2018, and participants will be selected by the end of April.

For more information, visit the EJI website or contact [email protected].

The Energy Journalism Initiative is made possible with generous support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and CGEP Advisory Board Members Reid Hoffman and Jim Rogers.
