Club chefs make hit with 'chicken on a stick' -- call it what you will -- at cancer fundraiser

National Press Club chefs Susan Delbert and Moe Aguilera joined 50 other Washington-area chefs and mixologists to serve unique food and drink to more than 400 guests at the 12th annual “Turn Up the Heat – a Celebration of Women Chefs” fundraiser for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance at the Ronald Reagan Building Feb. 22.

Delbert, the Club’s executive chef, and Aguilera, sous chef, treated the indulgent guests at the Club’s food station to Japanese Coconut Strips with Mango Sauce and Asian pear slaw. By the time guests came back for a third or fourth sample, however, “they were more inclined to just call them ‘Chicken on a stick,” Delbert reported.
