Club Member Edward Segal relaunches ‘Crisis Ahead’ podcast on Federal News Network

National Press Club member Edward Segal has relaunched his weekly Crisis Ahead podcast on the Federal News Network. The show can be heard here

Crisis AheadCrisis Ahead takes deep dives into crisis-related issues and topics with experts from the government and private sectors. Segal interviews them about their training, strategies, tactics and techniques for managing and communicating about a crisis; how a recent crisis in the news was managed; and what others can learn and apply when they have to respond to a crisis. Federal News Network is a critical source of breaking news, information and analysis for people who support the missions of federal agencies.

Segal’s first guest on the rebooted series was Army Maj. Stephen Von Jett, a public affairs instructor at the Pentagon’s Defense Information School. Von Jett discussed what federal agencies and corporate executives can learn from how military officers are trained to communicate with the public about crisis situations.

The guest this week is Aaron Levy, director of the Individual and Community Preparedness Division of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Levy shares his insights on how the agency trains, prepares for and responds to a crisis and the lessons others can learn from its experience.

Segal is a leadership strategy senior contributor for Forbes.com and author of Crisis Ahead: 101 Ways to Prepare for and Bounce Back from Disasters, Scandals, and Other Emergencies.
