Club member news and notes
Here is something new for 2019 – an occasional roundup of great things happening for fellow National Press Club members:
Congratulations to Club members Jonathan Tamari (@JoanthanTamari), national political reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer, and Sarah Wire (@sarahdwire ), congressional correspondent for the Los Angeles Times. They were elected to the Standing Committee of Correspondents in January. The five-member committee oversees the House and Senate daily press gallery operations and accredits members of the daily print news media.
Photographer Cheriss May (@cherissmay) has been elected to serve as president of the Women Photojournalists of Washington organization.
After covering New Jersey for more than 35 years, 13 of them as a Washington correspondent, Herb Jackson (@HerbNJDC) has moved to cover transportation at Congressional Quarterly/Roll Call.
April Simpson (@aprilleticia) is now a senior associate, staff writer at Stateline, a news service of Pew Charitable Trusts.
Julia Haskins (@Julia_Haskins) is now a staff writer for AAMCNews at the Association of American Medical Colleges.
