Club member offers invitation to luncheon on Islamophobia in America Feb. 23

Club member Mehmet Saracoglu invites National Press Club members to Rumi Forum`s luncheon on Islamophobia in America on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at noon. The event will be at the Rumi Forum offices, 750 First Street, NE, Suite #1120, Washington, D.C.

Nathan Lean will explore causes, challenges and solutions with a very timely and important discussion to overcome misunderstandings and prejudices against the Muslims in America. Nathan Lean is a writer and scholar of the Middle East. Formerly the editor of Aslan Media, he currently serves as the Director of Research at Georgetown University's Bridge Initiative.

He is the author of three books including, most recently, "The Islamophobia Industry: How the Right Manufactures Fear of Muslims," which has been translated into Arabic, Turkish, and Tamil. A graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, where he received an MA in Arab Studies in 2012, Nathan is as a leading voice in national discussions on Islamophobia. His writing has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, CNN, Salon, The New Republic and The Christian Science Monitor, among others.
