Club softball team readies for 2020 season, seeks players

The National Press Club softball team (aka “The Big Blue Machine”) is gearing up for the 2020 season and is looking to add new players.

The team competes in the Metropolitan Media Softball League (MMSL) against teams from ABC News, POLITICO, Bloomberg, NBC News, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, CBS News, NPR and other news organizations in the D.C. area.  All teams are coed, and games are played on Saturday mornings from 10 a.m.-12:45 p.m. on fields in Montgomery County from mid-April through late June.

Opening Day is set for Saturday, April 18.  The Club supplies team jerseys, bats and balls. All you need is a glove and the willingness to have fun. Playing on the team is a great way to meet other Club members as well as media professionals from other companies on and off the field.
