Comedian Mark Russell headlines Silver Owls Spring Hoot, 6 pm April 19

National Press Club members will have an opportunity for a rollicking good time at the Silver Owls Spring Hoot, featuring comedian and satirist Mark Russell, at 6 p.m. April 19.

The Hoot is open to all Club members and their guests--not just the Owls--and is one of the true entertainment bargains available anywhere. The festivities start with a cash bar followed by the traditional Owls sit-down dinner of roast beef with all the fixings.

Tickets are $35, which includes free parking at the PMI garage on the north side of G St. between 13th and 14th streets. Make sure you bring your parking ticket to the Hoot to have it stamped at the front desk.

Tickets must be paid for at the time of reservation. You can purchase a ticket by clicking here. If you have any questions call 202-662-7501 or e-mail [email protected].

Russell, a Washington institution, returns to the Club for one of his all-too infrequent visits, with topical humor in songs and stories. He is, as anyone who has ever seen him, adept at skewering politicians and public officials of every persuasion.

The Owls also will welcome 38 new Silver Owls (25 years of membership), nine new Golden Owls (50 years of membership) and an entirely new class of Platinum members who have 60 years of continuous membership in the Club. It seems hard to believe, but they're out there.
