A panel of reporters hosted by the Communicators Team will discuss the myriad ways transportation impacts people and business every day, making it a prime topic for local news coverage.

The virtual “Meet the Transportation Media” Lunch and Learn session will be held on Zoom on Thursday, June 17, at noon. Admission is free for NPC members. Click here to register.

Non-member guests may attend by making a $15 donation to support the NPC’s Help The Heroes campaign. The program provides freshly made to-go meals to workers at Howard University Hospital, which serves communities of color that are often the most impacted by COVID-19.

Serving on the panel will be Mike Lindblom, Seattle Times transportation reporter; Jessica Wehrman, CQ Rollcall transportation and infrastructure reporter; Eugene Mulero, Transport Topics reporter; and Nick Minock, WJLA-TV reporter.

They will discuss why transportation news matters to their audiences and the role communicators can play in the coverage.

NPC Member Lloyd Brown, who is the communications and marketing director at the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), will moderate the panel.

“This is an amazingly opportune time to hold the transportation reporters’ session, with the Biden Administration pushing an infrastructure package, and both houses of Congress making progress on a multi-year surface transportation reauthorization,” Brown said.

The panelists will respond to questions from the audience during the online event.
