Communicators panel explores communicating effectively with Congress, Oct. 8

Even in times of divisiveness, working with government officials can add a new dimension to a communications campaign or push an issue or a project over the finish line.

A panel of experts will discuss how public affairs is one of the most beneficial yet overlooked tactics in the strategic communications world, during a Lunch and Learn hosted by the National Press Club Communicators Team on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 12 p.m.

This virtual meeting is free and open only to Club members. Click here to register for the event.

Mike Fulton, a veteran Club member and director of public affairs and advocacy for the Asher Agency, will moderate a panel. He will lead a discussion with Dana Richter, senior policy advisor to Sen. Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia; Keysha Brooks-Coley, vice president, Federal Advocacy and Strategic Alliances, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network; and Lloyd Brown, director of communications and marketing, American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO).

Many communications campaigns support efforts to pass legislation or establish regulations. This session will focus on gaining a better understanding of the best practices for working with members of Congress and their staff to accomplish those public policy goals and objectives.
