Consumer and environmental activist Erin Brockovich to speak on grassroots activism, Oct. 30

Consumer and environmental activist Erin Brockovich will discuss her new book and podcast, “Superman’s Not Coming,” at a National Press Club Headliners event at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30.

Brockovich came to fame through the eponymous Julia Roberts movie based on the activist's crusade against Pacific Gas & Electric. Brockovich linked the poisoned water in some California neighborhoods to cases of cancer in residents, including children.

In her virtual talk on Oct. 30, Brockovich will discuss her new campaign to turn citizens into successful local activists. She also will address the pending national battle over access to water, which she calls “the next oil war.”  

This one-hour program will stream live at 2 p.m. on the Club’s website and YouTube Channel, and is accessible to both the media and members of the general public free-of-charge.
