Correction: Nominations open in October for Club officers, board members

Correction: An earlier version of this article misstated the dates for the National Press Club Election Calendar.

Nominations for this year’s National Press Club elections for officers and board members will open in October. Please watch The Wire for exact dates.

Candidates interested in running for office are required to gather signatures from Club members based on the rules outlined in the Club bylaws. The petitions will be placed on the tables outside the president's office for members to sign when the nomination period opens next month.

Vetting of the candidates will take place after the nominating period to ensure they qualify to run for office under the Club's rules.

Once voting opens, members will be able to cast their votes online or by absentee ballot until Election Day to be set in December. On Election Day, in-person voting will take place at the Club with the results to be announced at the Reliable Source after the polls close.
