Council on Foreign Relations President Haass to analyze global challenges, May 8

Richard Haass, president of the Council on Foreign Relations and author of "A World in Disarray: American Foreign Policy and the Crisis of the Old Order," plans to join members of the National Press Club for a breakfast roundtable on Monday, May 8, at 8 a.m. in the McClendon Room.

Club members can RSVP online.

Haass, former director of policy planning at the State Department, will analyze a world increasingly defined by disorder. He will talk about how the rules, policies and institutions that guided international relations since World War II have run their course, and how the Trump administration should -- and should not -- respond.

Club members are welcome to help themselves to the complimentary members breakfast buffet at 8 a.m. Haass will begin his remarks 8:30 a.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 9:30 a.m.

This discussion will be on-the-record, but cameras will not be permitted.
