Education leaders offer lessons learned, plans for future during COVID-19 Thursday

A panel of educators will speak Thursday, May 28, about how schools and universities are responding to the coronavirus and how they are preparing for the fall.

The session begins at 9 a.m. and will be moderated by Club Secretary Emily Wilkins, congressional and campaigns reporter for Bloomberg Government. Register online.

Among the questions to be asked: Can they open schools in a way that protects the health and safety of students and school staff? What lessons have they learned about communicating with their many stakeholders during this unprecedented health crisis? 

The panelists will include Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho (middle), head of the nation;s fourth-largest public school system; Northern Virginia Community College President Anne M. Kress (r), head of the largest public educational institution in Virginia; and Carissa Moffat Miller, executive director of the Council of Chief State School Officers (l).
