Enter your spellbinding images in Club Members' 15th Annual Photo Exhibit

It's time to grab your camera and take some stunning shots that will impress your family, friends, colleagues and Club visitors -- and then enter them in the 15th Annual National Press Club Members' Photography Exhibition Aug. 28-Sept. 30.

Entries are due by Friday, Aug. 15.

Entries may be submitted beginning Monday, Aug. 4, to the NPC Membership Office. There will be a sign-in sheet. You will need to register your photos with contact information, including your NPC membership number.

The exhibition, sponsored by the Club's Photography Committee, is open to all NPC members and will be held during the entire month of September.

All Club members are encouraged to submit up to four of their best shots, which will be displayed in the Club's lobby. Each photo may not exceed 11" x 14" (print and mat), and prints MUST be securely mounted and matted. Complete rules are listed below.

It is important to note that this is a photo exhibition, not a contest, and it is not juried.

Photo Submission Rules:

-- Photos must be taken by NPC members only and not displayed in previous NPC Photo Committee exhibitions.

-- Each member may display up to four photos. The MAXIMUM overall size (print AND mat) for each photo is 11" x 14".

-- Prints must be securely mounted on STURDY mounting board. If matting is used, it must be securely attached. Improperly mounted/matted photos will not be hung.

-- No glass or frames or canvas prints are permitted.

-- Due to space limitations, all titles and descriptions must be put on the FRONT of the mat/photo and not submitted separately. No separate descriptions are permitted.

-- You may sign and title each print on the front of the mat/photo or place a label with the information directly on the front of the mat/photo.

-- Your name, email address, and phone number must be on the back of each photo.

-- You must rank order your photos on the back with #1 for your favorite photo down to #4, in case there is not enough space to hang all your photos on the display boards.

-- There is no restriction, within reason, on subject matter.

-- Prints may be color, black and white, or hand-painted photos.

Key Dates:

-- Mon., Aug 4. First day to submit photos to NPC's Membership Office. Register your photos on the sign-in sheet with your NPC membership number.

You are responsible for picking up your photos between Sept. 30 and Oct. 10 from the NPC Membership Office. After Oct. 10, photos will be left in the common area for one week until they are removed. Neither the National Press Club nor any of the Photo Committee volunteers are responsible for returning your photos. Storage space is not available at the Club for members' photos.

If you are a non-resident member, or, if you will be out of town on Sept. 30 when photos will be taken down, you must include a pre-paid, self-addressed, FedEx return envelope or box with your photos when you submit them. The NPC Membership Office does not have the budget to return your photos. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

The National Press Club, Photo Committee volunteers, and visitors to the Club will treat your photos with care and respect. However, the NPC and the Committee volunteers cannot take responsibility for any damage to or theft of a photo.

The National Press Club presents this annual Members' Photo Exhibit to showcase the talents of its members. The photos and captions in this exhibit do not represent the views of the National Press Club. Also, the National Press Club/Photo Committee reserves the right to remove any photo that might be inappropriate.
