Fastest Club Member Will Donate Cash if She Wins Again at July 17 5K

Neisa Condemaita, winner in the Fastest Female NPC Member category for two years in a row said she will donate the $50 prize to the library's training and scholarship programs if she wins the gold again this year.

Condemaita has formed the "Chasquis" team, a nod to the highly trained runners who delivered messages throughout the Inca Empire.

Kathleen Koch, author of "Rising from Katrina" and former CNN correspondent, is the latest addition to the roster of media power women competitors for Beat the Deadline 5K on Saturday, July 17. She join heavyweight participants Newsweek's Eleanor Clift, K Street Kate's Kate Michaels, and Washington Post "Misfit" Vicky Hallett.

Rregister for the race online, go to www.press.org/5K. Packet pick-up and registration starts at the Club at noon on Friday, July 16. On site-registration starts at 6:45 a.m. on Saturday.
