FedEx world headquarters seeks Memphis-based communications advisor

FedEx Corp. is seeking an experienced communications professional to be part of a seven-person team, based in Memphis, Tenn., to manage issues and crisis communications preparedness and response, for FedEx operating companies and regions worldwide.

The $62 billion logistics company, consistently ranked among the world’s most admired and trusted employers, provides global customers with a broad portfolio of transportation, e-commerce and business services.

This Communications Advisor will develop strategic communications plans for key company initiatives that impact corporate reputation. He or she will anticipate, research, and recommend media responses to issues and trends that threaten company’s ability to operate.

The candidate will plan and execute risk assessments and event simulations, provide strategic consultation, and routinely engage the media as the need arises. Evening, weekend and holiday work may be required.

The candidate should have corporate or other institutional crisis response experience, exceptional print and/or broadcast journalism experience, strong writing and project management skills, and proficiency in social media.
